What you need to know?
What is family preparedness?
Preparedness isn’t panic. It’s love in practical form. It means building a home where you can handle the unexpected with calm, confidence, and care. It’s not about fear or worst-case thinking. It’s about knowing what to do when the power goes out, when someone gets hurt, or when plans suddenly fall apart. Family preparedness is built through everyday things — having clear roles, using gear you can trust, and building habits that hold up under pressure. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being ready enough, together.
What can UR® offer my family?
UR helps your family get more prepared with practical skills, simple training, and gear that works. It’s not about fear or storing a box in the basement. It’s about building habits, gaining confidence, and becoming more of a resource — for each other and for others. With our courses and hands-on training, you learn what to do and how to notice when it matters. And with the Parat backpack, you’re always packed and prepared — whether you’re heading into the woods or facing something unexpected at home.
What do I learn?
You learn how to notice. How to act. How to protect. You learn the mindset of preparedness — how to think clearly when others can’t. How to recognize patterns and signs. How to train instinct through repetition. How to adapt and lead under stress. How to use the tools you carry.
What’s in the CORE backpack?
The CORE backpack includes carefully selected items that work together as a system, both for your time on the trail and in unexpected situations. The packlist will vary with skills, situation, and scenario. It covers essential needs like first aid, warmth, orientation, communication, hydration, and nutrition. Every item is chosen for function, and packed without unnecessary weight or complexity. You also get tools that help you think clearly and act early. Most importantly, you learn how to use what’s inside — so it’s not just a bag of gear, it’s a system you trust.
How do I start?
Start small. Sign up for a course, take one of the learning modules, or get one piece of gear you’ll actually use. We’ll help you figure out what matters most for your family, without pressure or overwhelm. Preparedness grows step by step — and the first one is often the most important. While we wait for the system to launch, just reach out. We’ll make sure you’re invited when it’s ready.
